Durand Autumn Festival 2011 |
| On October 22, 2011 the Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Durand and the Downtown Development Authority organized and manned the first ever, Fall Festival for our community. Local groups such as the Durand Rotary participated and residential artists displayed beautiful artwork, along with various vendors who displayed wares along the 100 and 200 blocks of N. Saginaw Street. family activities. A pumpkin painting contest was sponsored by our local Quality Ace store and SageLink Credit Union featured a hula hoop contest for youngsters. Free cider and doughnuts, popcorn and cotton candy were provided to all visitors, while music filled the streets by a local DJ , who kept the atmosphere lively, perfect for the day long festival! The celebration was so well received by the community that the organizers decided to continue the success of this event. Mark your calendars.
